Fast growing and producing large exotic leaves this plant will bring a tropical feel to the garden. They can also be grown successfully indoors but require plenty of space and light.

Grow in full sun or part shade in moist well-drained soil at the back of a border in a sheltered space or in a pot as feature plant or focal point. Incorporate plenty of organic matter prior to planting and feed and water regularly to maintain strong growth.

The foliage dies back when first frosts arrive and will produce new growth the following spring. Although hardy they would benefit of a thick layer of protective mulch over the roots in autumn. In mild locations and protected sites no protection is required.
