Mangave Praying Hands
RHS Plant of the year 2024 (3rd Place)
A striking succulent with artichoke style fleshy leaves that curve upwards creating a dramatic sculptural shape. Each leaf is tipped with a rust-red point which extends down the edges of the leaf in cinnamon-brown lines. The bold, contrasting appearance and unique shape and colour make it a great choice for adding modern architectural plants that provide year-round interest.
An ideal centrepiece for a cacti and succulent collection or for where space is tight. Suited to container growing in well-drained gritty compost in a sunny sheltered position. Ensure the pot has good drainage and mulch the surface with grit to protect the fleshy leaves. Provide winter protection by moving to a conservatory or bright windowsill.
Agave & Manfreda hybrid
Eventual Height: 30cm
Hardiness: RHS H3 (-5 to1C)
NB: Succulents change colour and shape through the year depending on the growing environment and may look different from these photos!
